Due to legal restrictions, firearms, restricted parts, and ammunition must be purchased through a licensed CANiK stocking dealer. Here’s the full firearm purchase and licensing process:
How to Order a Firearm from CANiK SA
- Place Your Order
- Select your desired CANiK firearm on our website.
- The firearm will not be shipped directly to you but to a licensed dealer you choose.
- Dealer Selection
- You’ll provide the name of your preferred dealer during checkout.
- Find a dealer here.
- Delivery to Dealer
- The firearm is couriered securely to your chosen dealer.
- That dealer stores the firearm until your license is approved.
- Licensing Process (Required by SAPS)
- Competency Certificate: Apply via SAPS Form 517 after training.
- Firearm License: Apply under the correct section of the FCA (e.g. Section 13 for self-defense, Section 15 for occasional sport shooting).
- Watch this video guide for the full process.
- Collection
- Once your license is approved, you collect the firearm from your selected dealer.
Storage Policy
- Once the firearm is delivered to the participating dealer, the sale is between you and the dealer.
- Bosrus does not provide firearm storage. Each dealer will have their own storage policies and grace periodswhile you wait for your license.
